Eurizon and the UN’s SDGs

Our ESG investments, that take into account environmental, social and governance factors, aim to improve the sustainability of businesses also taking into account SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) laid out by the UN.

Ranging from philanthropy to business corporate social responsibility, and on to the creation of shared value, the sustainability of businesses is one of the reasons that in 2015 prompted the governments of the 193 member countries of the United Nations to come together in defining 17 goals to contribute to global development, promote human well-being, and protect the environment: the SDGs.

These objectives allow our clients to tangibly contribute to a more sustainable future, as outlined in our periodical reports: the Global Impact Report and Green Bond Impact Report, that provide information on the impact of Eurizon’s sustainable e responsible funds in terms of the SDGs.

The research conducted by AlphaBeta, commissioned by the Business and Sustainable Development Commission, identifies the activities required to implement the SDGs, to which the private sector will give a significant contribution. The research estimated that, in 2030, these activities will generate anannual GDP growth of around $12 trillion (USD) and will contribute to some 380 million new jobs.
